Heather the Doula
Helping Parents Enjoy Parenthood
What can a doula do for you?
Pregnancy and childbirth are magical and transformative times in life. Introducing your baby to your life, or your growing family, is such a special experience. As beautiful as these experiences are, they can sometimes feel overwhelming. A doula can help to ease these transitions, either in labor or in the postpartum period. Birth Doulas
A birth doula is present for the birth of your baby, but they are there for so much more!
Working with a doula means that you have continuous support with a compassionate expert before, during, and after your labor. You will build a relationship with your doula through prenatal visits, and will be able to reach out with your questions via phone, text, or email throughout your pregnancy. At 38 weeks, your doula will be on call for you and ready to assist you through labor. They can provide comfort measures through labor with you at your home, and can continue to support you and your partner (if applicable) at your birthing location. After the birth, your doula can help you with first feedings, get you settled, and will come to your home within 5-7 days for a postpartum visit to revisit your birth experience and assist in postpartum comfort measures as well as offer additional infant care tips if desired. |
